Getting Started with your Scorecard in BEE123

 

You will enter your actual achieved company data in the Data column of the software.

Any column or field that displays in black values, indicates that you can enter data in that field.

 

All the green fields represent the Scenario Planning Tool and you are able to enter data in the Scenario column.

 

The grey text columns or fields represents the BEE targets and weightings, the software automatically calculates your achievements, using the information you entered into the applicable or respective fields. No data input is required in those columns or fields.

 

After you have entered your data under each element tab, your accumulated score will display in the footer section.

 

When you open a scorecard, you will enter your actual achieved data in the Data column for each element. The Data column displays black placeholders where you are required to enter either a percentage, numerical value or amount. The Scorecard Software will then calculate how many points you have earned.

 

The Scenario Planning Tool allows you to forecast or plan hypothetical BEE scenario achievements and to ascertain what impact these will have on your BEE score

 

The Scenario is accessed by selecting the ‘Scenario View’ option from the View drop down.

 

Whilst capturing your achieved BEE data, you will notice a blue Scenario column accompanied by blue fields. These fields allow you to enter forecasted, predicted or best case scenario data.

 

This allows you to create hypothetical scenarios, plan your future BEE strategy or your most desired BEE score and to assess the impact that such measures will have if implemented.

 

In the header and footer sections of the BEE software, your actual achieved and scenario BEE score display in relation to your score achieved for that specific element and your overall score.

 

The ‘View’ drop down regulates the data set that will be displayed within the Scorecard Software. The different data sets available within the drop down are as follows:

 

• Data View
• Scenario View

 

Data View:

 

The Data View provides a scorecard assessment based on the user’s actual company data. It will therefore provide an indication of the user’s scorecard achievement, using the same data it will be rated on by its verification agency, and thus offers an indication of the approximate score that might be achieved when rated.

 

The Data View is the default view that appears when accessing the software and will always be displayed.

 

Scenario View:

 

The Scenario View is essentially a ‘what if’ tool, which allows the user to assess what the effect on its scorecard would be if it were to implement various hypothetical scenarios. This allows the user to strategically plan its BEE strategy going forward, and to implement same in an intelligent, cost effective, calculated manner.

 

If selected from the ‘View’ drop down, additional Scenario input and display blocks will be created on the Scorecard below the Data blocks, displaying on a light green background.

 

The BEE Support button allows the user to access both technical and theoretical BEE support. Specify the type of support required via selection of the appropriate radio button, and type in your support query.

The Verification File button automatically compiles all data captured in the Data Pages into a variety of element specific spreadsheets, and houses these in a zipped folder. Essentially this is the raw data your verification agency will require to conduct their B-BBEE verification. This feature should eliminate the need to separately prepare these spreadsheets for your verification agency.

 

The Report button allows the user to generate a report, which graphically records scorecard achievement.

 

The user can specify the following options:

• PDF or excel report generation
• Reporting period selection
• Which scorecard elements to generate
• Report storing for historical referencing
